You got to fight for your rights!

Every year on March 8 women worldwide are celebrating the International Women's Day. On this day it is celebrated global movement for women’s rights, equality and justice and achievements throughout history and across nations. It is also known as the United Nations (UN) Day for Women's Rights and International Peace.

Looking thru the history women were in less organized workplaces than their male counterparts, were in the lower echelons of the garment industry, and were working at low wages and experiencing sexual harassment. Then in New York City in February 1908, thousands of women who were garment workers went on strike and marched through the city to protest against their working conditions.

In 1910, Copenhagen hosted the first international women's conference on which, on the proposal of the German socialist, theorist, activist and fighter for women's rights Clara Zetkin (born Eisner, July 5, 1857 - June 20, 1933), it is accepted: every year to celebrate the day of the workers and to celebrate their international solidarity each year in the fight for equality with men in all public spheres of life.

In 1977, the UN General Assembly adopted a decision to mark March 8 as the International Day for Women and Peace.

Today is March 8th. On this day both men and women should openly discuss family violence, rape, discrimination, sexism, feminization of poverty, and women's imbalance in society. Let's celebrate the holiday with recognition not only for those we love, but also for those to whom women owe their rights. Without them, our mothers, wives and sisters today could not have been able to vote, to get educated and to be free to choose their own professional and personal path.

Happy 8 of March to all women in the world, be brave and strong and fight for your rights, and as the main theme says: "Time is Now: Rural and urban activists transforming women's lives"!
