Take care of your clogged pores

Genetics, hormone changes, or even stress may increase the production of the sebum. Sebum is an oily substance made of fats. Although it helps protect and moisturize the skin, too much sebum may lead to oily skin, which can lead to skin pores.

Pores on the other hand can get clogged with oil, dry skin cells, and everyday dirt and debris. Clogged pores left untreated can lead to blackheads and acne, so it's important to clean them regularly.

There are many ways on how to get rid of clogged pores. We will show you some of them:

WASHING

Start the unclogging process by washing the face. Use gentle face-wash soap or cleanser to get your face completely clean without irritating the skin, which can cause the pores to appear bigger.

STEAMING

Steaming the face is an inexpensive and highly effective remedy for clogged pores. Steaming opens the clogged pores and allows all kinds of impurities trapped inside to be washed away. Steam your face twice a week to keep your pores clean and rejuvenate your skin.

EXFOLIATING

  • Brush: dry brushing is an ancient exfoliation technique. Make sure the brush is made specifically to be used on the face.
  • Scrub: contains tiny particles that perfectly exfoliate the face and unclog the pores.
  • Sugar: works as a natural exfoliating agent to help break up scar tissue and unclog skin pores.

Choose one of these tree methods and gently massage for five minutes in a circular motion to exfoliate. Rinse your skin with cool water and apply a moisturizer. Do this once a week to clean out and prevent clogged pores.

 FACIAL MASK

  • Clay mask: works by pulling out the substances that clog pores as they dry.
  • Chemical exfoliant mask: exfoliates the skin without having to scrub it.
