Blackheads appear when the pores get clogged due to the accumulated excessive oil, along with dirt and dead skin cells. At first, the blackheads appear as whiteheads, but as soon as they come in contact with air they become black. They appear on all skin types, but those who have oily skin are the most affected. The most common affected areas are: the nose and the chin area, then the neck, the back and the chest area.

It has been proven that honey can remove blackheads when used in raw form or with other ingredients. This natural antiseptic, antioxidant, antibiotic and antibacterial remedy when mixed with ingredients such as: lemon, baking soda, flour, egg, green tea can free the pores and deeply cleanse the dirt and other impurities that are the main cause of blackheads. Additionally, when used with cinnamon, it can get rid of blackheads while leaving the skin rejuvenated.
Here are some effective recipes for blackhead removal that can be made from honey and cinnamon:
- CLAY MASK - Mix cinnamon powder and honey until thick paste. Apply gently on the affected area. Leave for about 15 minutes. Wash off with lukewarm water.
- BLACKHEAD MASK FOR NOSE AREA - To keep the nose area free of blackheads and acne, a mixture of cinnamon powder and organic honey can be applied all over the nose. Leave this mask for about 5-10 minutes. Wash off with water.
- CINNAMON AND HONEY SCRUB - Mix ½ tsp. of cinnamon powder with a 1 tsp. of honey until thick paste. Apply on T-zone where the blackheads are very stubborn and scrub the area in a circular motion. Then wash off with water.
